The Engineered Packaging and Distribution Research Group (EPDRG) has been recently formed in the Faculty of Health, Engineering and Science at Victoria University in Australia. The Research Group’s mission is to provide a local, national and international focus for scientific research aimed at developing environmentally sound and optimized solutions to support the distribution of products and produce. Victoria University has had a long and successful history in packaging research and consultancy and the formation of the EPDRG represents a reconfiguration of existing expertise at the university to take advantage of internal incentives that will enable the activities and research in packaging and associated disciplines to be expanded.包装设计

The activities of the EPDG focus on food security, food packaging, sustainable packaging, optimised and engineered protective packaging, packaging waste reduction, post-harvest technologies, biodegradable packaging as well as environmental and distribution hazards.印前工艺
The expertise in the EPGD relates directly to environmental shock and vibration, distribution dynamics, material characterisation, protective packaging, polymer science, polymer chemistry, analytical chemistry, active food packaging (modified atmosphere packaging, antimicrobials) as well as post-harvest technologies.版式设计

The research group’s activities are supports by a number of laboratories across the University. These include:字库
· The Environmental and Distribution Dynamics Laboratory that houses a range of experimental facilities for distribution (shock, vibration and environmental) simulation and testing. These include: a large vibration table for transportation simulation, a programmable shock generator, a large compression testing machine, a free-fall drop tester, cushion tester, environmental chambers and environmental data recorders (acceleration, temperature and relative humidity).印后设备
